Category of Treatment
Physiotherapists provide students with motor function assessment, training, and development.
Treatment Strategy
- Normalize muscle tone, reduce abnormal posture, inhibit spasm and primitive reflexes, and promote midline development.
- Provide mobilizing and stretching exercises, maintain or increase the range of joint motion, and prevent deformity and contracture.
- Strengthen muscles to prevent muscle atrophy and deformity.
- Gross motor training (such as: head control, rolling, sitting, standing, walking, up and down stairs, transfer, etc.)
