Curriculum Introduction

Twelve-year Continuum Curriculum

Our school-based twelve-year Continuum Curriculum is constructed by integrating the ideology of Invitational Education, Constructivism, and Person-Centered, to provide an appropriate curriculum for students with severe intellectual disability and multiple learning difficulties . We believe that:

1.    Students are the main subject of learning and constructing knowledge, and education is centered on students;

2.    Students have the potential to learn, and have certain innate motivation to understand what is happening, and will pursue progress and development;

3.    Students have different characteristics, interests, and learning differences. They are unique. Learning is based on students’ abilities, interests, and needs.

Students are unique individuals, they have different characteristics, interests, and learning differences. Therefore, learning should be based on the foundation of their abilities, interests,

and needs.

Curriculum Missions

1.    Being “Student-centered” to allow students to have all-rounded development in moral, intellectual, physical, social, aesthetical, and spiritual areas, to fulfill their  whole-person development.

2.    Let students master knowledge, skills and attitudes in different subject areas, and exhibit their full potential.

3.    Establish a foundation of “Life-long learning” for students, and enhance their ability to live independently , in order to adapt to different environments and to meet the needs of daily life.

4.    Cultivate and develop students’ personal interests, so that they can enjoy a meaningful life.
